Although “Xiu Li Oyster Fritter” does not have any signboard, all foodies often go there to satisfy their cravings as they know that the store uses good ingredients and sells at an economical price. Most of the Mashagou residents have been regular customers since their youth. Those who are married to people in other cities or living elsewhere will definitely go back for a snack whenever they return home.
In the past, when Old Mashagou Fishing Port was at its peak, the fish vendors, fishermen, and visitors from different places would go to the Li-Shen Temple to taste the oyster fritters. When they wentgo home, they would tell their family; the name “Xiu Li Oyster Fritter” was thus spread through word of the mouth. After the opening of Jiangjun Fishing Port, the Old Mashagou Fishing Port was abandoned, and the visitors stopped going inthere. However, “Xiu Li Oyster Fritter” remains the secret dining spot for the foodies.
