Upon entering the Farm, visitors will feel rich pirate vibes when spotting the couplet at the entrance that reads, “Heroic pirates came to Ponkan; their hidden treasure shows up in Aogu.” Xianghe Leisure Fishing Farm is an environmental education site transformed from a fish pond. With pirates as its theme, the Farm is located at Dongshi Township, Chiayi County where fishing is the major industry.
When visiting the Farm, visitors will first see “Cai Qian Pirate Village”. Cai Qian was a pirate chief in the Qing dynasty, who inspired the owner of the Farm to create the Pirate Village. It's hoped that visitors can gain an in-depth understanding of the local life and culture by experiencing them in person and through guided tours.
There are also many relaxed and fun activities that enable visitors to experience nature, such as feeling clams, fishing and harvesting seaweed, which will entertain children and adults alike. After taking part in some of the activities, visitors can also feast on fresh and delicious seafood. The Farm offers both fun and gourmet food and enables visitors to appreciate the land and local culture through playful activities.
