Southwest Coast National Scenic Area

Located in Jiangjun District, Mashagou began as a traditional, coastal fishing village. At dusk, you can see the sunset reflecting on the scattered fishing boats on the surface of the ocean. These views have made Mashagou one of the Eight Scenic Spots in Tainan, the “View of the Ocean Like a Fluttering Green Sail”. Mashagou also has a soft sandy beach and crystal clear ocean water. Since planning and development in the 1980s, numerous stalls and water activities have been set up. This always attracts a large number of tourists during the summer, making it Mashagou’s most splendid period.

Mashagou's facilities were old and gradually declining, but in 2018, the Southwest Coast National Scenic Area Administration began building the new Mashagou Sea Leisure and Sports Resort. This went into operation in June 2020. The renovated resort added camping areas, swimming areas, exploration facilities, children's water slides, jet skis, and other recreational facilities. The richness of the facilities and the unique and favorable conditions of the waterfront location quickly restored Mashagou to its former glory.

After the renovation, not only did Mashagou add an abundance of leisure activities, but perhaps more importantly, safety and rescue facilities were improved as well. The lifeguards in the recreation area keep an eye out for dangers in the leisure area, giving visitors a comfortable and safe recreational experience.
