Chuanzihtou Residence is located in the Chuanzihtou Community on the bank of the Pozih River. The sign of the guesthouse was hung in 2003 by the then magistrate Chen Ming-wen, who was riding a tourist oxcart here when chairing an event. As talent drain is serious here and many young people have left, the Council for Cultural Affairs and Chiayi County Government held a national-level cultural and artistic festival with the slogan “The Beckoning of Chuanzihtou” as the theme for the hometown revitalization movement. The residents also founded the Chuanzihtou Culture and Education Foundation for the community development and the remediation of the Pozih River. Cai Jhen-cheng and Cai Bo-fu, who are brothers, were among the first to return here; they rebuilt their old residence into a townhouse. Cai Jhen-cheng and his wife, Jhu Yue-guei, acquired the first guesthouse operation certificate in Chiayi in keeping with the county government’s tourism policy. Chuanzihtou is filled with good farming memories from Cai Jhen-cheng’s childhood. He runs the guesthouse with enthusiasm and organizes the bike path along the bank of the Pozih River and the package tours featuring Dragon Boat racing and “farm life” tours in Chuanzihtou. The door couplet of the guesthouse, which reads “Pozih River flows on and on; Chuanzihtou’s fame is spreading far far away”, fully conveys the ideals of Mr. Cai and his wife.
