The Southwest Coast National Scenic Area is bordered by the Provincial Highway Tai 17 to its west and Budai Harbor B&B is located at Provincial Highway Tai 17 after getting off from the West Coast Expressway Budai Interchange, nearby is the entrance to Budai Salt Mountain and Budai Tourist Fish Market which makes it convenient to travel around.
The owner of Budai Harbor B&B is Cai Changshou who originally ran a 3-storey hotel. It has a total of 18 rooms and has applied to the Tourism Bureau of Chiayi County to convert into a B&B, becoming the first legally operated B&B in Budai Township.
The children of owner, Cai Changshou, who is close to his 60s have stable jobs on their own and have no intentions of taking over the business. Cai Changshou has intentions to look for a partner to cooperate in operating the place, beautify the 100ping courtyard, enhance the façade of the B&B and reduce the noise from traffic travelling through the nearby Provincial Highway 17.
As compared to other B&B that provide food and beverages, because Budai Harbor B&B is close to Budai Tourist Fish Market and conveniently located, it only provides accommodation and recommends its guest to visit the nearby Budai Salt Mountain, Budai Harbor and Budai Tourist Fish Market and enjoy the evening view of Budai Harbor as well as indulge in local seafood and reminisce its “Little Shanghai” glamour in the early years.
Budai Harbor is served by the ferries, Tomorrow’s Star and Stars in the Sky, traveling to and from Penghu. Budai Harbor is also the closest Taiwanese harbor in distance from Xiamen, Mainland China. Budai Harbor B&B provides guided tour packages of Penghu and Budai for travelers.
